The declaration of World Heritage is a distinction granted by UNESCO to those properties and sites with characteristics of exceptional value that make them unique in the world. For Spain, as the third country with 48 inscriptions on the World Heritage List, this event is of special importance and highlights the extraordinary value of Spain\u2019s cultural heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>Spanish World Heritage Cities Group<\/b> (GCPHE) is a non-profit association declared of \u00abPublic Utility\u00bb that is formed by the fifteen Spanish Cities whose historic centres have been declared World Heritage: <\/span>Alcal\u00e1 de Henares, \u00c1vila, Baeza, C\u00e1ceres, C\u00f3rdoba, Cuenca, Ibiza \/ Eivissa, M\u00e9rida, Salamanca, San Crist\u00f3bal de La Laguna, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia, Tarragona, Toledo <\/b>and <\/span>\u00dabeda<\/b>. Our objective is to coordinate the joint action of these City Councils in favour of the conservation and promotion of the enormous historical and cultural heritage of these cities, which are an authentic international reference in cultural tourism.<\/span><\/p>\n In 2018, coinciding with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of its creation, the Group launched <\/span>THE HERITAGE NIGHT<\/b>, an event that was welcomed by a great media, local and visitors participation.<\/span><\/p>\n With the name,<\/span> LA NOCHE DEL PATRIMONIO. LA NIT DEL PATRIMONI. A NOITE DO PATRIMONIO <\/b>we want to pay tribute to the cultural expressions and to the languages \u200b\u200bof all the Group\u2019s Cities, representing Spain\u2019s diversity and wealth.<\/span><\/p>\n The sixth edition of THE HERITAGE NIGHT will take place on Saturday, <\/span>September 16th<\/b> and will be structured in three sections:<\/span><\/p>\n ESCENA PATRIMONIO<\/b>, Dance Festival in UNESCO Heritage sites<\/span><\/p>\n ABIERTO PATRIMONIO<\/b> late-night opening hours of sites, museums and cultural spaces<\/span><\/p>\n VIVE PATRIMONIO<\/b> and a wide range of cultural and leisure activities in our historic centres.<\/span><\/p>\n In addition, special activities created by and for young audiences will be highlighted under the title CREA PATRIMONIO.<\/span><\/p>\n This year, as important novelties, THE HERITAGE NIGHT will be celebrated also in the Heritage Cities of Cuba, Mexico and Peru and will be officially supported one more year by UNESCO through the World Heritage Center and will be accessible from all around the world through the streaming on the website: <\/span>www.theheritagenight.com<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Join us in the 15 Cities for this simultaneous celebration of World Heritage, with a participatory, social and universal approach.<\/span><\/p>\n The Mayors of Spanish World Heritage Cities Group<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>
